Good to Know

What Will The Weather Be Like?

Mexico City in January has highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s. In the city, you can expect to want long pants and a light jacket most days. Mexico City is also located at elevation (7,000 feet) – so plan to drink water as you adjust!

The wedding takes place in Cuernavaca, Morelos which is 2,000 ft lower than Mexico City – roughly the same elevation as Denver. January weather has highs in the 80s during the day and lows in the 50s at night.

Where Is The Wedding Taking Place?

The wedding is taking place at Grand Fiesta Americana Sumiya located in Cuernavaca, about a 1.5 hour drive from Mexico City. All wedding activities are located on site at the hotel. It's a beautiful hotel and well equipped, but please note that 5-star in Mexico does not translate directly to 5-star in USA.

The hotel has 3 restaurants on site, a bar and a coffee corner as well as a small store. There is also a gym, pool and a spa. The hotel is a 15 minute drive from downtown Cuernavaca where you can check out the town and purchase additional items or eat out.

On Sunday the hotel has a very extensive and well known all you can eat brunch that is ~$55pp. This is served from 7:00 am onwards. This is the only seated dining option for breakfast on site.

There is also a snack bar at the pool where you can choose dining options a la carte. The snack bar opens at 10am.

Room service is available 24/7. There are reports that the time to delivery can be a bit long.

For more questions on the hotel, check out their hotel FAQ.

Are Kids Welcome?

As much as we love your little ones, we've decided that our wedding will only be open to children of direct family members. If you are traveling with kids and need help finding babysitters, or with anything at all, please reach out to us and we can connect you.

Can I Bring A Plus One?

+1s are indicated on your invitation. Our guest list is unfortunately at capacity, which means we are sadly unable to accommodate additional guests. If you have any questions, please reach out to us.

How Do I Share My Dietary Restrictions With You?

We definitely want to make sure you enjoy your meal on our wedding day, we will ask you for your food restrictions prior to the event.

What Should I Wear?

Above all else, we want you to feel comfortable, confident, and celebrated as the unique person you are. We are big believers in "look good, feel good." And we want to have a good time with you! We added fun themes to our weekend events simply to spark conversation and connection. Please feel free to get creative with items already in your closet. There is no need to buy anything new unless you want to. Interpret these themes however you wish, and just bring yourself!

Saturday Night - Welcome Drinks - "Kimono Themed"
Join us Saturday night to kick off the weekend and celebrate our venue' (and Sena's) Japanese heritage! If you happen to have a kimono on hand, this is your chance to wear it! We invite you to lean into the theme with flowing layers like robes, light dusters, shawls, scarfs or wraps.

Sunday night - Wedding Day - "Boho Chic"
Think elevated dressy wear with a playful, creative twist. Think long sweeping dresses, flowy maxi skirts, or jackets with patterned ties, open-collar shirts (no standard black tie required). Think: textures, colors and bold prints. The wedding will be held outdoors, so we suggest bringing a light layer for the evening.

Post-Wedding Dance Party
After the ceremony and reception, we are keeping the energy going with an extended late-night dance party! If you want to bring a fun outfit change, a sparkly accessory, or just swap into your most comfortable dancing shoes, please do. This is your chance to throw on whatever lets you move freely, bring a little extra flair to the floor, and help us celebrate all night long!

The wedding ceremony and reception will be outdoors on grass. We suggest a light layer or jacket for the evening, and to avoid pointy toed shoes.
